My thoughts turn to deep reds around this time of the year. I guess its quite natural because its holiday season around the world and everything I look at for inspiration these days has a touch of deep reds in it. It feels so cozy and warm to see these cheerful ideas and decorations in homes.
Here are just a few random ideas that can be used to bring in the cheer of red in tiny bits. Not too much… in fact just about enough to brighten up the space looking simple yet happy. Its the kind where you create a wow effect with little things and then just sit back and admire in gratitude.

I love to look at homes that are filled with handmade items. They share a lot of visual stories – when you don’t need words… the mere feeling says it all. Having a lot of handmade items under one roof is like a beautiful combination of imaginations of different people. To me it’s like a wonderland – where taste and creation intersect.
Every crafted piece has an imagination behind it. It could be a hundred things that could have inspired it, but the creation is not possible without imagination. And imagination never comes into existence without feeling – as they say so. It is the feeling that combines with a great taste in the eye and inspired by another imagination that the beautiful craft finds a forever-home.
And so another chapter is added to the visual stories that such a home tells…
Its today! Grace and Joy turns 1! It was just yesterday that I started this new blog with new hopes and lots of love and now… as I write these words, it has been a whole year – which seems as if it has passed in just a blink of an eye.
Hundreds of bloggers around the world have celebrated their first year with gratitude to their readers and those who inspired them in their early days; and I couldn’t find a better way to celebrate mine.
I started off last year in quest of inspiration for a better, simple and beautiful home and above all for the love of writing. This blog has given me not only confidence and improved my taste but also a direction for many years to come. It has given me joy.
Another thing that I learned through this blog was to let go… let go of being unique… being different… and being able to change the world in your own way. It has inspired me to go slow and learn along the way because letting go brings clarity of mind and – most importantly it brings hope.
So, heartfelt thanks to many many people whose incredible works have inspired me… taught me, gave me hope, and kept this blog alive. Though they do not know it but they have done a huge service and continue to do so every single day because it gives them joy…
