There is always a sweet spot in a home where you can treat yourself with quiet and peaceful time in the morning, coffee and a good read or maybe morning newspaper. Sounds familiar, right? Yes, I’m referring to the same spot where you sit for your own peaceful morning time before everyone else gets up. Its the best time of the day! I know. Been there. Its like being able to breathe normally without being bothered for sometime and thinking about the day ahead and making a small to-do list in your head before that coffee gets cold! Not just that; just sit there, smell that coffee and look outside with an empty head. *happy times*
I’d love mine just by the window, with natural light and air that smells like dew and blossoms. Yes, please, thank you. And somehow, I always imagine that little spot to be a small eat-in kitchen! Sometimes its a window seat in a living room too. But let’s talk about eat-in kitchens for now.
They are heart of a home – kitchens! They keep busy all day – starting right from the morning coffee till cleaning up after the dinner and in between, there is always something happening in there. Breakfast, chatting over coffee with a neighbor, homework help, fresh baking getting cold, sometimes blogging (that’s me) or even just waiting for the curry to come to boil. These little nooks are one of the busiest in the home; and lovely too.
Never mind a banquette though; if the space allows! It gives a more traditional and warm look. And the best thing is it uses up every inch of the space efficiently.
